Book 9 Part 1 - Montville Remembers: World War One 1914 - 1919

Montville Remembers World War One 1914 – 1919, introduces the circumstances and events of the First World War. It pays tribute with a roll of honour identifying those soldiers who worked and/or lived in Montville, describing their military history and their lives before and after the war. 
The book also gives the history of the Memorial Gate and Pillars that record the names of those who enlisted, those who were rejected and those who died in active service, and details the memorial trees planted by the school children for the fallen soldiers.
The role of the Patriotic Committee and other caretaker committees as well as a description of the recent refurbishment of the memorial gate and Pillars are included.
